Heel Life: Connecting Students. Inspiring Involvement.
The Office of Student Life and Leadership collaborated with UNC School of Media and Journalism Lecturer Livis Freeman's "MEJO 634: Public Relations Campaigns" course to develop a name-change campaign for StudentLife.unc.edu.
StudentLife.unc.edu, the website that provided information on all registered student organizations and various University Departments, will now be named Heel Life, HeelLife.unc.edu. The name change is part of a larger initiative to spread awareness and increase usage of the website by students, faculty and staff. Through this name change, the Office of Student Life and Leadership hopes to provide a site that reflects Carolina unity. The office will also promote the name change in order to draw attention to the site itself as a valuable campus resource.
The students in this course conducted interviews, surveys and focus groups with Carolina students to gain insight on students’ perceptions of the Student Life website. They used the information to create a new name and slogan that will resonate with students: Heel Life: Connecting Students. Inspiring Involvement.
