Jill Ullman has more than a decade of experience in fundraising in the nonprofit sector.  In 1991, Jill joined the UNC-Chapel Hill Clinical Center for the Study of Development and Learning, where she worked as a program coordinator for more than nine years. Her first development position was with All Kinds of Minds in 2003, where she directed the statewide individual giving and annual fund programs. In 2008, she joined Citizen Schools as development director for the North Carolina region, leading fundraising in the organization’s Durham and Charlotte markets, and serving as interim executive director. She was promoted to managing director of external engagement, overseeing both development and volunteer outreach. In 2012, she joined the East Durham Children’s Initiative as its inaugural development director, where she created, launched and spearheaded the organization’s first formal development effort. She returned to UNC in her current role at the School of Media and Journalism in July 2014.

Ullman is a member of the North Carolina and Triangle chapters of the Association of Fundraising Professionals. She serves on the board of Schoolhouse of Wonder in Durham, for which she chairs the development committee. She is a graduate of Class XIX of Leadership North Carolina. Ullman holds a B.A. in Art from Guilford College in Greensboro, N.C.
